In 1902 Auguste Rodin urged his friend Rainer Maria Rilke to visit the Jardin des Plantes in Paris.
Embodied in an elevated, swinging steel-structure which covers the entire floor area of the exhibition space in the art gallery, Milliers de Barreaux reverberates the approching steps and strides of people in its proximity, triggering a seamless corporeal experience of watchfulness to spectator, figure and ground.
